Interactive Dado Rail from Jason Bruges Studio, the rail responds to the movement and touch of pupils to move the lights and generate sounds. Although this installation is in a seperate room, it is easy to conceive this piece within a larger social context. By running their hand over the rail, the user is engaging with the space, and through different movements or actions is able to generate different responses.

I can envisage a version of this to be used as a method of interaction to guage the ideas and opinions of users in transitional spaces. The system could be linked with survey questions, colour palettes or method cards to collect information about users of a space, as well as providing them with a means to express themselves.
